(En_part I) After the success of his 2022 Lucid Dreaming tour in Montecarlo, Geneva, Zug and Turin, Enrico Muratore Aprosio, in art ‘EMA’, is back with his 2023 project called ‘THE RADIOACTIVE BEASTS"
Born in Sanremo in 1972, EMA is an artist and a peace and human rights activist with strong ties to the Principality of Monaco and the Ligurian territory across the Italian Flowers Riviera and the Côte d’Azur. EMA grew up by the Italian-French border, in Grimaldi di Ventimiglia. A versatile painter, collage artist, cartoonist, poet, singer and radio producer since his young years, EMA graduated in international law in Nice, and holds master’s degrees in human rights law and in political science. In 1998, EMA joined the United Nations as human rights expert for the peacekeeping mission in Angola. Since then he worked all across the world, and especially in Africa, where he spent 15 years of his life in conflict and post-conflict countries.
He also served in 2008-2009 as the first Head of Programmes of the well-known Monegasque organization Peace and Sport, founded by Modern Pentathlon Olympic Medalist and World Champion Joël Bouzou, and placed under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco.
EMA dedicated many years of his life to pro-bono activities in the field of peace education , including as the founder of the Association of Captain Mbaye Diagne for the Culture of Peace, collaborating among other with the Italian Nobel Prize for Literature Dario Fo and the Kenyan Nobel Peace Prizelaureate Wangari Maathai.
Promoting the legacy of the heroic Senegalese peacekeeper who gave his life after rescuing, unarmed, over 1.000 people in Rwanda during the 1994 genocide of the Tutsis, the Association was instrumental in fostering the institution of the UN Captain Mbaye Diagne Medal for Exceptional Courage by the United Nations Security Council in 2014.
EMA also published numerous articles on human rights, conflict, humanitarian affairs, development and international relations on the newspaper Il Fatto Quotidiano, organized important conferences conferences and produced documentaries for the United Nations including on the situation of refugees and migrants in Ventimiglia. Since 2016, EMA has settled in Geneva where he continues to serve the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. In 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic, EMA found the time to produce the Coronavirus Series collages, and numerous paintings using different materials and techniques, which can be admired on his colorful website.
From June to November 2022, EMA held the Lucid Dreaming Shows in Geneva, Montecarlo
(at L’Entrepôt gallery in September) and Zug, and presented selected works at prestigious events such as the European Hotel Awards at Hotel Fairmont Geneva and the International Pen Show in Turin.
