(En_part II) After the success of his 2022 Lucid Dreaming tour in Montecarlo, Geneva, Zug and Turin, Enrico Muratore Aprosio, in art ‘EMA’, is back with his 2023 project called ‘THE RADIOACTIVE BEASTS (Link to part I)
EMA also multiplied the collaborations with other artists, performing (along with his artworks
and one of his daughters) as an actor in the video of the song Caballo Regala'o by the Cuban artist Alberto Castellon and his salsa band; or to produce the cover of ‘The Absurdist
of Kathmandu’ novel by the Nepali writer Saurav Thapa.
In the same period, following Russia’s military aggression of Ukraine, EMA conceived and undertook to develop his new art project, called The Radioactive Beasts, loosely inspired from George Orwell’s Animal Farm, and focused on the war in Ukraine and the inherent risks
of nuclear disaster.
Since humans became mad, the animals of the farm send silent messages asking them to take seriously the threat this conflict entails for all forms of life on earth. In dangerously polarized times, the Radioactive Beasts are telling humans to restart talking about ways to build peace.
With a bold, explosively vibrant color palette and clean, deliberate line work, EMA’s works tackle provocative themes with a playful, dynamic eye that inundates the viewer with intricate detail. Contrasting geometric and organic forms to expressive effect, his work combines the delicately figurative with the absurd and the abstract to craft works that are both humorous and enlightening.
Dense but not overbearing, each piece stands as a singular work of art while still maintaining a cohesive voice across the series.
After the success of his 2022 Lucid Dreaming tour in Europe, EMA is now heading to the United States of America, where he will screen his Radioactive Beasts for the first time on agiant billboard in Times Square, New York, from 21 to 27 April 2023, in collaboration with the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize laureate, the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN).
EMA’s work on the Radioactive Beasts will continue for the entire year 2023. Altogether, he plans to produce thirty original animal artworks and develop a NFT collection. In parallel, EMA intends to start from Montecarlo to launch a global peace initiative, inviting artists from all parts of the world to participate with their original artworks in favor of peace, dialogue between nuclear powers, and against every war, in Ukraine and everywhere else where atrocious conflicts continue to rage, killing and maiming innocent civilians, men, women and children.
‘In times of worrisome remilitarization and polarization of the world, maybe more than ever before, it’s time for all artists to stand up for peace in the world. It’s also time for the world to understand how artists are important to promote a culture of peace and the necessary mentality change. And how crucial it is to provide public as well as private support to artists and to cultural professions, to build more just and harmonious societies in larger freedom’, told EMA to Quality of Life.
‘Monaco is the ideal place to launch this much-needed art initiative for peace, which I have already been discussing with some key Monegasque and international interlocutors who share my same passion for peace and for art. We are all persuaded that, given the positive global image and the soft power and charm of the Principality, such initiative will attract international attention and, we hope, will contribute, along with other ongoing likeminded efforts, to show the way of dialogue to world powers, bring peace closer and reduce the risks for Europe and the rest of the world’.
We wish EMA luck in this new ambitious project, and we wait for the Radioactive Beasts show to also make a stop soon in Montecarlo, after its global launch in New York City.
